Mothers Day 2014

This day is so special. It is special to me because of my daughter.
I get to spend every hour of every day teaching her, helping her grow, and just being her mommy. I get to hear her say new words and sounds, watch her imagination grow, laugh at her silly faces and cuddle her as she sleeps. I am blessed to say that at 18 months we are still nursing. I am the only one who can still put her down for bed or nap. She finds comfort wrapped up in me and that is my privilege, as I am her mama. I am there when she falls down, a hand to help her back to her feet, I sing Frozen songs on repeat with her all throughout the day, I give bubble baths and comb her hair. I get to read her books, and watch her play.
I am Katie's mom.

She first called me mama & now I am mommy.
I love her with all my heart and soul.

I heard the sweetest thing the other day.
"You are the perfect mom for your child."
I loved it.
Sometimes as a mom you can feel like you are failing, falling short and just plain tired. You can feel like the best mom one minute and the next you're in tears because you feel like a bad mom. But you know what, even with our short comings, You are the best mom to raise your babies. Period.
God gave them specifically to us for a reason.
Katie is mine for a reason.
& I am so glad she is mine.
forever and always.

This mothers day, I spent in the joy of my sweet, sweet daughter.
Katie is 18 months now (I will do a recap on that soon) and I am just seeing her blossom before my eyes.
This weekend my lovely husband surely did bless me.
On Saturday,
Troy took me to Chipolte for lunch, and then I was headed off for an hour of relaxation.
I got a deluxe mani, pedi and it was pure bliss!
I enjoyed every bit of it and my nails look pretty cute to show for it.

For dinner we went to Outback Steakhouse with my In laws and Troy and Katie gave me the best picture I could have dreamed of. I was blown away.
A little back story on this photo. Troy made a huge poster/photo just like this that just says "I love you" and it hangs above our headboard. It has been there since the day of our wedding. My husband made it for me and it is so unique and perfect. So, for Katie to help daddy make mommy one was an all time special gift. Just perfect.

Then on Sunday I was able to speak a little during the church service about the word Empathy. We did a talk on the word MOTHER
and E stood for empathy. (more on that later)
Afterwards we headed to my grandmothers for a lovely lunch to celebrate all of us mama's and it happens to be my grandmas birthday today. She was blessed with tons of kisses from grand kids and great grandies. It was a beautiful afternoon.

Just who she is, is the best mothers day present every day.

Throwback to last Mothers Day.
Katie was 6 months old and it was sunny!

This year she is 18 months and it snowed 6 inches! in May!
esh.

I love you Katie Annabelle
